Privatization in education

Education plays the prime role in the personality enhancement of an individual. Generally, education is provided by the state but nowadays,it is also provided by the private sectors. In most of the country, many schools and colleges are running as private institutional s. Privatization in education has attracted the need of the people concerned.

Privatization in education does offer tremendous advantages. Unless there are private institution, rich people send their children to foreign countries for their education; and with them our money goes out. Similarly, the problem of unemployment is solve to some extent. The most important advantage is that running private schools and colleges demands the direct peoples participation and cost sharing for educational development.
It is sure that there are serious disadvantages of privatization in education. Profit-making schools and colleges are established to uplift the economic status of the founders;so they are very expensive. Poor people cannot send their children to private schools, colleges and universities. Only rich people can do it, as a result there is inequality in education.
Although there exist some demerits of privatization in education, the contributions of private academic institutions cannot be ignored. It is sure that they are, an average providing quality education. All the private schools and colleges should be institutionalized. They should not be commercialized in the name of privatization.
